May 10 – A Key Date for Adventist Communicators in Quebec.
Brought together in one spirit, united by our passion for words, images, sound, and mission, we took part in a Communication Congress unlike any other, under the theme “Communicating to Transform.”
It wasn’t just a series of workshops or lectures. It was a moment to grow, to learn — but also to recentre ourselves. Because at the heart of our ministry lies a calling: to serve God through every message we share.
Outstanding speakers passionately shared their expertise:
- Christelle Agboka, News Writer and Producer at the NAD
- Douglas Pereira, Associate Director of Communication at the SDACC Union
- Shawn Ellis, Director of Communication and Media at the Ontario Conference
- And of course… Cornel Serban, Communication Director of SDAQC, Pedro Torres, Director of Espoir Média Québec, along with Nadine Félissier, Sara Therlonge, Samuel Dorneval, and Tania Assigbley, who also enriched the workshops with their diverse experiences.

The topics addressed were both timely and essential:
- Artificial Intelligence and its use in mission
- Decoding fake news
- Photography, multimedia, Quebec’s Law 25, copyright and image rights
- Crisis communication — and communicating to transform
But beyond the tools and techniques, this congress was a time of rediscovery and spiritual reconnection.
Are we simply broadcasting… or are we communicating to transform?
Through prayer, worship, and meditation, we sought to reconnect with God so we could better carry His message throughout Quebec — with clarity, faith, and purpose.
Yes, we left with new tools — but more importantly, with a renewed fire.
Because our communication is in the service of the One who sends us.
